Knotty Boy Dreadlocks Products
Knotty Boy Wax Knotty Boy Bar Shampoo Knotty Boy Liquid Shampoo
Knotty Boy Locksteady Gel Knotty Boy Cooling Moisture Spray
Knotty Boy Conditioning Spray Hold:

We
gave Knotty Boy a 7 because the hold was better than the majority
of the waxes we tested, but it wasn't as long lasting as it could
have been and it did not hold down all of the loose hairs when it
was first applied. Despite its ability to stay in the hair during
washings with warm water, it melted out completely when washed in
hot water.
Visibility:

Knotty
Boy's extremely light color wax was very visible, especially on
dark and medium dark hair. Melting it in with a hair dryer temporarily
took care of the problem but the whiteness came back when the hair
was rubbed. They also carry a dark wax which is suitable for brown
and black hair. But we found that it left a color tint behind in your dreadlocks. So it can easily be seen if you apply to much and the wax does not match your hair color.
Scent:

We
are not giving Knotty Boy a 7 based on the smell of the scent, but
on the strength of it. When the wax was first applied it seemed
very sweet but after an hour it became over powering.
Nutrients:

Knotty
Boy offers some nutrients because it contains hemp seed oil.
Greasiness:

Knotty Boy does not contain petroleum but it contains a lot of excess
oil which makes the hair feel greasy to the touch and leaves a greasy
feeling behind on the hair.
Price
per ounce: 25 oz. jar $3.13 per oz., 4 oz. jar $3.75 per oz.
