Scent left behind: Yes
The Knotty Boy Bar Shampoo has a peppermint scent that it leaves behind in your dreads, but it's not an overpowering smell.

Residue:

It does leave a very noticeable scented residue behind that you can feel on your hands and dreads. Part of this residue is due to the fact that it is a bar soap, which in general, tends to leave more residue behind and not rinse completely.

Ease of use:

It was a bit hard to hold onto in the shower because it is a bar soap and it is very slippery. The edges were also pretty sharp which made it hard to work into a lather. It is also a rectangular shampoo bar with flat sides so if you leave it on a flat surface when its wet it is a little difficult to remove.

Comments:
I spent some time chasing this one around the shower. The combination of the smooth bar and the sharp corners made lathering it up without dropping it pretty tough. I also felt like I couldn't get enough soap on my dreads and I had to keep going back to the soap bar to get more soap. It seems silly to have a shampoo come as a bar. The premise of a bar soap is to rub it on your body to apply the soap, which can then be rubbed into a lather. Since you can't rub the bar directly on your dreads(since it would leave solid soap behind) you have to first work up a lather in your hands, then apply it to your dreads. This two step process makes washing your dreads, an already time consuming task, take a good but longer.
